Case Study: St. James’s Place
In part as a response to the Covid pandemic, St. James’s Place approached us about providing their financial advice professionals in Asia with a dedicated Digital Wealth Solutions platform that we could together customise for the specifics of the St. James’s Place business.
Digital Wealth Solutions provided St. James’s Place with a dedicated platform, hosted in Asia, and a dedicated development team to customise the platform - over and above the set of standard advice features for advice professionals and their clients.
While we implemented various customisations, perhaps the most notable ones are integrations with both Singapore’s and Hong Kong’s digital identity platforms - Singpass and iAM Smart respectively. Both integrations are to allow for remote verification of clients’, and prospective clients’, identities; and, therefore, support St. James's Place advisers in dealing with limitations on meeting clients in person.
We continue to work with St. James’s Place to customise their Digital Wealth Solutions platform in line with their strategy, and to support their advice professionals in using the platform to onboard, advise and look after clients.
How we work with corporations
As every corporate is different, we adapt both our platform and our support services for each client.
However, in essence, we help corporations to overhaul distribution by providing them with dedicated Digital Wealth Solutions platforms and dedicated tech teams to bespoke the platform.
This approach helps each corporate client to rapidly embrace ‘hybrid’ advice, and level up their distribution - but in a manner that is specific to its business and to its existing systems and processes.
Once a platform is in place for a client, we continually bespoke the platform - in close conjunction with the client. In effect, we help the client to run a front-office innovation function. This is summarised below.
Discovery
Prompted by our client’s management or advice teams, we collectively identify new features that are required or desired. For example, KYC integrations with a digital identity platform to speed up client onboarding.
Together we manage a delivery roadmap of new features, but we typically strive for agility to ensure that we are responsive to the client’s ever-changing business priorities.
We shape potential solutions. This phase ensures that solutions are technologically robust, well designed, and appropriate for the advice process.
Often we develop prototypes during this phase.
Solution Shaping
Development
Once solutions are broadly agreed and proven to be technically viable, we follow an agile delivery approach to refine the features.
We carry out both technical and user testing of all new features. Our clients often get involved in user testing.
Testing
Once new features are ready, we deploy them to the client’s dedicated Digital Wealth Solutions platform.
We then solicit further feedback to continue to refine the deployed features, and to identify new features.
The process then continues.
